Official documentation for the automated agent behind WebMTR, the public website diagnostics service by AidenTech Systems. Last updated: 2026-09-21.
A URL scanner on steroids. It works its way through the OSI layers and gathers as much information as it can at every layer; it then investigates the same target with different postures and geo locations to confirm the target treats every client and origin the same — and shares the delta — before finishing with a consolidated summary.
Scans are user-initiated — the agent does not crawl, harvest, or discover URLs on its own.
| Origin | Egress IP | rDNS (PTR) |
|---|---|---|
| Ashburn, US | 150.136.224.189 | ashburn.scans.aidentech.com |
| London, UK | 172.237.108.143 | london.scans.aidentech.com |
| Karachi, PK | 154.192.123.209 | karachi.scans.aidentech.com |
scans.aidentech.com hostname, and that hostname resolves back to the same IP — FCrDNS-consistent).https://aidentech.com/ips.json — the same origins, IPs, PTR hostnames, and UA patterns in JSON for automated verification. The agent declares itself honestly: diagnostics stages use a descriptive scanner token; page-render stages (landing check, screenshot, performance) declare a standard desktop-Chrome client class with no fingerprint patching. The exact strings below are the complete inventory.
| Stage | Exact User-Agent |
|---|---|

| Landing preflight + thumbnail render (declared Chrome class) | Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/126.0.0.0 Safari/537.36 |
| Interception sidecar (posture differential) | Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/145.0 Safari/537.36 |
| Performance measurement (Lighthouse / Chromium 151) | Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) HeadlessChrome/151.0.7922.34 Safari/537.36 |
| Our own geo-enrichment API calls (never target-facing) | WebMTR/1.0 |
Prefix patterns for rule matching:
WebMTR/1.0* — all WebMTR-tokened diagnostics trafficMozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/* — declared browser-class render stagesMozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) HeadlessChrome/* — performance measurement stageAll requests are additionally signed per the Web Bot Auth drafts (section below) — the signature, not the User-Agent, carries the verified identity.
The agent cryptographically signs its requests per the Web Bot Auth working-group drafts (draft-ietf-webbotauth-httpsig-protocol, alg="ed25519", tag="web-bot-auth"). Verifiers can validate signatures against our public key directory:
